What it is

A proposed voluntary scholarly assembly inspired by the historical association of the Sanhedrin with 71 members. It is governed by its own charter and the participating communities — not by the platform's founder.

What it is not

  • Not the Sanhedrin, and not a claim to be the Sanhedrin.
  • Not a universal halachic authority.
  • Not a mechanism for the founder to determine doctrine.
  • Not a replacement for existing communal rabbinic leadership.

How seats fill

71 possible seats, none automatically appointed. Communities that choose to participate may select representatives from qualified, willing candidates through clearly documented procedures. The founder does not select all representatives.
